ABOUTTHERELEASE

Phantom was made as a revolt to the current state of drum’n’bass, divided in micro-genres with everyone trying to copy the latest cliché. Tripnotic was using the tune as a secret weapon on his club gigs for some time and decided it is finally time to release it. He manages to merge liquid and dancefloor, salsa and tech in the same song, proving a point that it is actually possible to make everyone happy while staying true to your own style. The two remixes serve as a nice contrast to the original: Es-Dub has a no nonsense classic Bristol jump-up approach and Etheric Loopz has provided his trade-mark intellectual dark and dirty version of d’n’b.

There is a special goodie included in the promo pack – a tune called Phantomize, which is a mash-up of the Phantom original and Q-Tip’s vocal from the Chemical Brothers hit Galvanize. It is a gift to all Filter supporters.

ABOUTTHEARTIST

Producer, remixer, radio and club DJ, promoter and label owner, Tripnotic has never been a fan of music genre boundaries. He amazed the music journos with the tripped-out Fresh Paint EP, frequented the catwalks with the lounge masterpiece Asylum EP and stormed the dancefloors with the anthemic breaks release System Check, and now he is back with his own vision of drum’n’bass.
